The Problem

Most sustainability tools cost a fortune because someone else built them for a market, not for you.

You're paying $15K, $50K, sometimes six figures a year for a carbon calculator, a reporting tracker, or a supplier questionnaire that was never really built for your workflow. You adapt to the software. You wait for feature requests that never ship. You pay renewal invoices for tools you've half stopped using.

Meanwhile the tool you actually need, the one that fits exactly how your company tracks emissions, could be built in an afternoon. Not by a developer. By you.

Own your tools.

What You Build

Your project for the day: a functioning carbon emissions calculator, built on your own data.

Close-up of the emissions dashboard: scope breakdown donut chart and emissions ranked by source

The same method builds any tool. You leave with the Tool Architect skill, the process that turns your next idea into a working spec, ready to build.

How The Day Works

This isn't a course or a recording, it's a live 4-hour working session. You build in real time, with help when you get stuck.

NotebookLM01
NotebookLMExtract the Logic

Every good tool runs on rules: what counts, what doesn't, how a number gets calculated, what triggers a flag. That logic usually lives scattered across documents, spreadsheets, and what's in your head. This is where we build a RAG for your knowledge, to pull that logic out into something clear and structured, the actual business rules your tool will be built on.

Claude02
Claude ChatTurn Logic Into a Spec

Here's the part almost nobody teaches: building a tool isn't just coding, it's translating what you know into language a developer can build from. This is called writing a product spec, and it's one of the most valuable skills to have in the age of AI. You'll take what you extracted and turn it into a clear, buildable plan.

Claude Code03
Claude CodeBuild It Live

This is where it becomes real. Using Claude Code, you'll build your tool step by step, test it as you go, and fix what doesn't work. You leave with something that actually runs, not a mockup, not a plan for later.

What You Need Before You Arrive

1.

A Claude subscription (Pro, €20/month). Get one here before the session.

2.

A NotebookLM account (free). Sign up here before the session.

3.

Fresh Claude usage limits. Claude resets every 5 hours, so avoid heavy use in the hours right before we start. We'll send a reminder the morning of.

4.

A laptop. That's it. No setup, no installs beyond a browser.

Who This Is For

You work in sustainability, EHS, or ESG and you're tired of Excel doing the job software should

You've watched a demo, gotten a quote, and closed the tab because the price made no sense for what you actually needed

You're curious about AI but have never actually built anything, you've just used ChatGPT to draft emails

You want proof this works before committing to anything bigger

No real use case yet, or don't want to use your company's actual data? No problem. We provide mock data and a case study you can build with instead, so a lack of "the perfect project" is never a reason to sit this one out.

What You Leave With

The tool you build, and now own.

A working carbon emissions calculator (or your variant), built on your own data (or the provided case study), ready to use.

A repeatable framework.

The Tool Architect spec-writing method you used today, yours to reuse on the next tool, on your own, no session required.

FAQ

Do I need to know how to code?

No. That's the point. You'll use Claude Code to build, but you don't write code yourself, you describe what you want and guide the process.

What if I don't have a real project or data to bring?

Use the mock data and case study we provide. Plenty of people build their first tool this way before bringing their own data to a second one.

Is this the same as AILab?

No. This is a single focused day to build one tool and learn the method. AILab is a longer program for people who want to go deeper.

What do I actually need before the session?

A Claude Pro subscription (€20/month), a free NotebookLM account, a laptop, and fresh Claude usage limits going into the session (limits reset every 5 hours, so avoid heavy use right before we start).

Can I use this for something other than a carbon calculator?

Yes. Carbon calculator is the flagship example, but the same method applies to any tool: a supplier risk matrix, an audit checklist, a data tracker. Bring your idea.

Is this pre-recorded or live?

Fully live. You're building in real time, alongside others, with support if you get stuck. Nothing to watch later, this is a working session, not a course.
